BLOOMINGTON -- Tom Allen doesn't blame the targeting call against Indiana's captain and All-American linebacker Micah McFadden for the Hoosiers' 38-24 loss to No. 8 Cincinnati on Saturday. They had entirely too many second-half mishaps in all three phases — including a blown kickoff coverage that led to a 99-yard touchdown return and four turnovers on offense — to blame the defeat on one penalty and the ejection of one defensive player.
"We had other opportunities," Allen said in his news conference Monday, "and a guy like that goes down and you lose him, somebody has got to step up and make a play.
