BLOOMINGTON – Camron Buckley and D.J. Matthews followed very different paths to the same place.
Matthews, a 160-pound slot receiver, opted out of the 2020 season and entered the transfer portal early last fall, deciding it was time to leave Florida State rather than play for a fourth coach in his four seasons with the Seminoles. Buckley, a 6-2, 198-pounder who can play any receiver spot, had to sit out his fourth year at Texas A&M because of an ACL tear and didn’t consider the transfer option until late in the spring.
In Indiana, Matthews picked a school that needed speed in exactly the spot he could bring it.
