BLOOMINGTON – Former IU coach Bob Knight was admitted to the hospital Friday evening, according to a message distributed to program alumni.
Per the contents of the message, a brief update spread to former players, the hall-of-fame coach had been admitted with an acute illness. Knight's son, Pat, released a message on behalf of the family Monday afternoon saying the former IU coach had been released from the hospital and is home.
"On behalf of the Knight Family, we thank you for your thoughts and prayers. As many have heard, my dad was hospitalized over the weekend with an illness and has since been released from the hospital.
