NEW CASTLE, Ind. — There’s a difference, if you ask Yorktown volleyball coach Stephanie Bloom and Tigers senior Jaylynn Dunsmore, between the two times they beat New Castle this season.
Both matches ended with Yorktown victories, the first in four sets and the latter in three. Both matches meant Dunsmore and her teammates had topped a team that defeated them in sectional play during Indiana’s high school state tournament last year. But the win the Tigers recorded Saturday meant more to them than the one that happened in September.
This October matchup, it placed the two sides against each other in a Class 4A sectional semifinal for the second-straight year.
