MUNCIE, Ind. — Luke Martin can’t remember the exact day it happened, but he can remember the pain he felt that morning.
The day before, the Ball State football offensive lineman had been hit hard in practice. And the following day when he woke up, he wasn’t really able to walk or even get out of bed. In fact, the previous night he hadn’t been able to sleep much, either.
So weeks before BSU’s 2020 season was scheduled to begin Nov. 4 on the road against Miami (Ohio), a decision was made.
It was a decision that ended a three-month journey, in Martin’s mind.
