When head men's basketball coach James Whitford was asked what the team accomplished in the first official practice of 2020-21, he mentioned the importance of being able to communicate while wearing masks. The 100th season of Ball State men's basketball is certain to bring challenges, but Whitford liked what he saw from a group that went 18-13 and won its division last season.
"We got through a two-hour practice, which means our conditioning levels are up and the guys were able to hard for the whole stretch, which was great," the eighth-year coach said.
