HARTFORD CITY, Ind. — Olivia Leas anxiously awaited the future, knowing better days were ahead for Blackford girls basketball.
She and fellow juniors Liv Waters and Brianna Stroble believed in the program's rejuvenation, yet even they didn't expect the success the Bruins would enjoy in 2021-22.
Blackford (17-5) broke the program's 40-year-old record of 16 wins in a season, doing so with one senior — Macy Cagle — and a collective confidence unimaginable when she first joined the team.
"Macy said it best, she said, 'Four years ago when I started this, I never believed that we could be where we're at right now,'" head coach Mitch Waters said.
