MUNCIE, Ind. — Saturday night was filled with firsts for this Wapahani girls basketball team.
It was the program's first Delaware County championship since 2017, the first high school title for every Raiders player, and head coach Scott Hudson became the first person to win the tournament as a player (Wes-Del 1986), boys head coach (Wes-Del 1995) and now girls head coach.
The 44-33 win over reigning champion Yorktown (5-13), which won three of the last four titles, was also the first time the Raiders won this year when top player Camryn Wise played below her standards.
