SELMA, Ind. — Jeff Andrews has only seen his oldest son, Isaac, cry 10 or so times in his life.
Nov. 26 marked the latest occasion, when the Wapahani boys basketball junior surpassed 1,000 career points in a thrilling comeback victory. Head coach Matt Luce grabbed a microphone and huddled the team near midcourt to announce the guard's achievement, only for the honorary Raider to emerge weeping.
The image surprised those who know Isaac as an introvert, inclined to conceal his emotions. He gathered himself enough to embrace Luce and Jeff before joining the student section, all holding congratulatory signs, for an obligatory photo.
