MUNCIE, Ind. — There’s only so much Ball State coach James Whitford said he is allowed to say about his team, and why its Mid-American Conference matchup Tuesday against Western Michigan had to be postponed.
When Ball State Athletics announced Monday that the game would be “postponed to a later date,” it cited COVID-19 protocols and said it would “continue to follow the guidance of health officials and cooperate with our partners to ensure a safe competitive environment.” WMU put out its own release Monday, and said there were “COVID-19 protocols within the Ball State men’s basketball program” that led to the postponement.
