The Indiana high school football regional matchups are set for this weekend. Here is a statewide look at the teams still playing in the tournament:
Class 6A
Penn (6-5) at Merrillville (11-0)
Penn won its 25th sectional title, but first since 2017 with a 10-7 win over Chesterton, scoring its lone touchdown when Alec Hardrict scored on a 93-yard screen pass. Third-ranked Merrillville, which won the regional last year, has an offense averaging 42.2 points per game led by quarterback Angel Nelson (2,168 passing yards, 24 TDs), running back Lavarion Logan (1,981 rushing yards, 33 TDs) and receiver Justin Marshall (43 catches, 1,088 yards, 16 TDs).
