INDIANAPOLIS - Under the lights at Victory Field, nationally-ranked Indiana pulled away from Ball State late in the game 9-3 Tuesday night. The home team Cardinals led the game into the 5th before Indiana rallied to hold on for a win.
Ball State scored a run in each of the first 3 innings to take a 3-0 lead. Ross Messina scored twice and Mack Murphy smacked an RBI triple as the Cards jumped out in front behind Drey Jameson then Lukas Jaksich.
Indiana, ranked between 23 and 25 in national polls this week and in first place in the Big Ten, scored in the 4th and then got a 2-run homer from Elijah Dunham to tie the game in the 5th.
