GASTON, Ind. — Before this season, someone pointed out to Wes-Del head coach Brad Hess that, given everything that happened this past summer to her family, Amy Cullum was probably done working the chain gang for the football team. And few could blame Amy for feeling that way. Friday nights — especially this one in particular — were a constant reminder of her late son and unimaginable loss.
But hide? No. The only time Amy ever stopped working the chains was when her two sons were out there playing, and she returned last year. Amy relishes being part of these games and has since she started teaching at Wes-Del 23 years ago.
