MUNCIE, Ind. — As Darrick Lee stood on the field Friday after Muncie Central football’s home opener against Anderson, the emotion in his voice and on his face was clear.
Last season, Lee’s first as Central’s head coach, the Bearcats struggled one week after another. Their losses piled up. And by the end of their sectional opener last October, regardless of the strides they’d made those months, their record was 0-10 — representing Central’s first season without a win since 2010.
The Bearcats’ losing streak, which at that point sat at 15 games and last week stretched to 16, weighed on the program.
