YORKTOWN, Ind. — Tyron Rainer started to think that it was him.
The New Castle boys soccer coach, now in his sixth season at the helm, has been with the program since 2009. First as a junior varsity coach for three years and then varsity assistant for another three.
He came in a year after the Trojans had won their second-straight sectional championship in 2008. Since then, the Trojans haven't been able to duplicate that success, which weighed heavily on his mind.
But that weight was lifted Saturday when New Castle outlasted Yorktown 1-0 to claim its fourth boys soccer sectional championship in school history and first in more than a decade.
