INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Emily Weiss can now add a national high school record to her long list of accomplishments.
Weiss finished the 100 breaststroke in :58.40 on Saturday at the IUPUI Natatorium, breaking the previous national high school record of 58.56. It also marked the third state title in three years for the junior.
"Honestly I couldn't believe it," Weiss said. "Seeing that time flash is crazy. But knowing that I have a national record now is... I can't describe it."
Weiss finished second in the 200 individual medley earlier in the day, an improvement from fifth last year.
