PARKER CITY, Ind. — All four of them — Ryder Jones, Shawn Roderick, Khaner Phillips and Landon Taylor — have played together since they were in seventh grade.
Some started golfing earlier, but each of the now-senior boys golfers came together five years ago to form what would become the Monroe Central boys golf team. That's when Shane Haney, who would've been wrapping up his fifth season coaching at Monroe Central had it not been for the coronavirus, began the junior high program.
Friends off the course, the four of them quickly began investing more time in the game, some of them dropping other spring sports along the way.
