YORKTOWN, Ind. — Skyler Davis remembers the sick feeling in her stomach.
It was May 29, 2018. Yorktown had just played Bellmont in a Class 3A regional championship game, controlled most of it and yet still lost because of one bad inning. After the game, heartbroken, the Tigers watched their opponents celebrate. Davis, then a junior, watched her senior teammates’ eyes well up with tears.
