MUNCIE, Ind. — Caleb Huntley is running.
It’s Sept. 9, 2017, and the then-freshman Ball State football running back is gashing the University of Alabama at Birmingham defense for a 52-yard touchdown run. It’s Aug. 30, 2018, and the then-sophomore is bolting for a 42-yard dash against Central Connecticut. It’s Nov. 23, 2019, and the then-junior is racing 54 yards against Kent State.
Huntley is always running. That’s what the now-senior and 21-year-old has done for so long, and hopes to do for much longer. But as Huntley runs, he’s not attempting to escape anything besides the grasp of an opposing defender.
