MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State baseball team cruised to a 10-0 win over Dayton Saturday afternoon at Ball Diamond. All 10 runs were scored in the third inning.
The Cardinals (11-9) quickly pulled away thanks to home runs from juniors Caleb Stayton, Alex Maloney and Alex Call. Ball State scored its first run of the third on a wild pitch, allowing Call to score. Stayton proceeded to hit his third home run of the season to right field to make the score, 3-0.
Two batters later, Maloney ripped a two-run shot down the left field line for his first long ball of the year to extend the lead to 5-0.
