MUNCIE, Ind. — The third time was the charm Tuesday as Mother Nature finally allowed Delta and Yorktown to get in its doubleheader that was originally slated to open the season.
The visiting Eagles and Tigers split a pair of games, as Delta won the opener 11-9 and Yorktown rebounded for a 15-2 win in the nightcap.
Yorktown's Jordan Spangler and Jackson Taylor tallied two hits apiece in both games. Teammate Quin Fauquher (2-for-3) drove in four runs in the second game, while Justin Cox (2-for-4) drove in three. Sully Swingley threw all five innings and didn't allow an earned run, striking out seven.
