MUNCIE, Ind. — Yorktown started strong, and Daleville finished strong. Both methods were effective in the Delaware County Baseball Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday night at Yorktown.
Yorktown used a seven-run first inning to roll past Wes-Del 14-0 in five innings, while Daleville scored four runs in the fifth inning to get past Delta 7-4.
So the matchups are set for Saturday's semifinals at Yorktown: Wapahani (15-5) plays Yorktown (14-7) at 10 a.m., while Cowan (7-9) meets Daleville (11-7) at noon.
Yorktown's Justin Cox (3-for-3), Jordan Spangler and Sully Swingley all had multi-hit efforts and drove in at least two runs, while Conner Anderson and Grahm Reedy also drove in two.
