MUNCIE, Ind. — Delta and Wapahani will meet on the diamond in two weeks in the opening game of the Delaware County Tournament, and the squads provided quite the appetizer on Tuesday.
Delta earned a 2-1 walk-off win against the visiting Raiders as Tyler Gilland drove in Cameron Levers with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh. Levers had led off the inning with a double.
Both teams got great performances from their respective pitching staffs as there were just five total hits in the game. Carter King threw the final 2 1/3 innings to earn the win for Delta (7-7), while freshman Nick Crabtree started and allowed one unearned run and one hit in 4 2/3 innings.
