MUNCIE, Ind. — Delta and Yorktown opened the season with two close games Tuesday, setting the tone for possible meetings later in the Delaware County Tournament and the sectional.
Delta took the first game of the double-header 11-10, before Yorktown bounced back with a 3-1 victory in the nightcap.
The Eagles won the opener after scoring at least once in every inning, including a four-run sixth inning in which it batted around. Austin Selvey earned the win in relief, while Aiden Hinds, making his first career varsity appearance on the mound, nailed down the save with a perfect seventh.
