It's a significant reason why the program hasn't won less than 30 games during head coach Rich Maloney's 18-year tenure and consistently produced professional players, some who emerged suddenly or unexpectedly.
Senior pitcher Trennor O'Donnell is the latest example of a breakout Cardinal. BSU needed a new ace after 2022 Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Year Tyler Schweitzer (2.65 ERA, 91.2 IP) was drafted in the fifth round by the Chicago White Sox, and O'Donnell has filled in well with a MAC-best 2.
