As the excitement mounts for the 2021 Mid-American Conference tournaments this week, attention will undoubtedly be turned to the Cardinals to see how they fare.
It's the first time the Cardinal women have been the No. 6 seed in the MAC tournament under ninth-year head coach Brady Sallee and only the second time they have earned that spot.
The women (14-10) ended their 2020-21 regular season campaign with a 76-69 win over Western Michigan in Worthen Arena on March 6. A win on Wednesday night in the opening round would advance them to the semifinals of the MAC tournament on Friday for the first time since the 2015 season.
