NEW CASTLE, Ind. — As much as a night of high school football could this year, New Castle’s season opener Saturday against Tindley possessed the qualities one might expect.
There was a starting quarterback, Trojans senior William Grieser, throwing one touchdown pass after another. There was a turnover, the first of many that night: a fumble recovered by Trojans sophomore Wyatt Maiden, sending the sideline pulling for his opportunistic defense into a frenzy.
There was a pair of veterans, Trojans seniors Matt Bell and Jamorion Taylor, racking up tackle after tackle. There was a pair underclassmen, Trojans sophomores Quintin Boatright and Aidan Bradley, recording the first receiving touchdowns of their careers.
