PARKER CITY, Ind. — They call themselves the "Big D Thieves" for good reason.
"We’re a big defense and we steal the ball back," Monroe Central linebacker Kaden Konklin said.
Monroe Central's defense has been dominant yet again this season, as the Class 1A No. 2 Golden Bears head to Shenandoah (6-2) on Friday looking to wrap up their second straight undefeated regular season. They are giving up just 4.9 points per game through eight games, second best in the state.
The defense has five shutouts this season and 10 over the last two years. Monroe Central lost a class of 15 seniors a year ago, so how is it still shutting down opposing offenses almost every week?
