How D.J. Matthews' season-ending injury affects an IU passing game in need of weapons

BLOOMINGTON – D.J. Matthews came to Bloomington in January and did just about everything Indiana could have asked a graduate transfer to do.

The wide receiver/punt returner and former high school All-American who spent three years at Florida State wowed his coaches with his professional approach to the sport. He made an impact at the slot receiver position where the Hoosiers had an immediate need, and he even made a difference with his voice. At a team meeting last week, he told his teammates they all needed to play with a little "dog" in them and that became a rallying cry throughout the week leading up to their 33-31 win over Western Kentucky on Saturday.
