FRANKFORT, Ind. — From the beginning of the season, Cowan volleyball had one goal in mind.
It wanted to win a state championship.
First-year head coach Melissa-Paul Gardner said it over the summer and her players never shied away from such lofty expectations.
And on Saturday, after No. 2 Cowan (29-4) completed a 25-21, 25-15, 25-18 sweep over No. 6 Morgan Township (29-6), the Blackhawks are one step closer to that goal.
"It kind of feels not real at all," senior middle hitter Ryleigh Walker said. "We're still going to that point and I just don't feel like we're done yet.
