MUNCIE, Ind. — When it was all over, Mark Detweiler grabbed the microphone and spoke to the several thousand fans at Delta on Friday night. He tried to put this dream season in perspective.
In the last 25 years, only 34 teams in Indiana had finished the regular season unbeaten. Delta became the 35th on Friday – and the only one to do it in the state this season – after defeating Burris 83-38.
It was only 21 months ago that Detweiler took over a Delta program with no seniors and only one player who had varsity experience.
