MUNCIE, Ind. — Last season, when Caleb Huntley got injured following the third week of the season, Ball State switched its approach at running back.
Huntley was the go-to option in the backfield. In 2019, he accounted for nearly half of Ball State's rushing attempts, yards and touchdowns. Playing in just three games last year, Huntley finished the season as the leader in rushing yards (437) and touchdowns (six).
So, when he got injured and missed the final five games last season, there wasn't one person who was going to make up for what Huntley — who finished his career seventh on Ball State's all-time list in rushing yards (2,902) and touchdowns (21) — brought from the backfield.
