GASTON — Standing in the middle of the court after Wes-Del's 82-73 home win over Burris, coach John McGlothin was all smiles.
Behind him, senior Keegan Newsome tracked down Zack Todd for a hug following the sophomore's career-best 37-point, 13 rebound performance. Newsome, the team's leading scorer this season, finished with two points and four assists. But after the game, individual point totals didn't matter. All that mattered for Wes-Del was that it got another win, something's it's been doing a lot of lately.
A month ago, it was a much different scene for the Warriors.
