Senior Michael Hallquist has been named a finalist for the Brooks Wallace Award honoring the nation's top shortstop, the College Baseball Foundation announced this week.
The Fargo, N.D., native joins Austin Peay's Jon Jon Gazdar, Mississippi State's David Mershon, Virginia's Griff O'Ferrall and Josh Kuroda-Grauer from Rutgers as finalists. The winner of the award will be announced on June 19.
Hallquist tied for the second-most home runs in program history with 21 and added 56 RBI, 18 doubles and 58 runs while batting .
