MUNCIE, Ind. — In the days and weeks since the death of a 46-year-old Black man named George Floyd in the custody of Minneapolis police, protests, calls for change because of racism and police brutality and more have taken place across the United States.
From one state to another, from one city to another, many have taken this time to let their voices be heard in the hope of a better future. And among them, have been athletes who compete collegiately for Ball State University.
Brandon Martin (football), Oshlynn Brown (women’s basketball), Chris Agyemang (football), Janae Hogg (softball) and Ishmael El-Amin (men’s basketball) are not alone among BSU’s Black athletes in this regard.
