With girls sectional basketball play opening Tuesday evening, here are five things to watch heading into the action.
1. Can Central three-peat?
Central has won its last two sectionals, but to make it three, it'll have to work through one of the most difficult first-night games in the state.
The Bearcats (18-5) drew Class 4A No. 2 Homestead (21-2) on Tuesday at the Homestead Sectional, so not only does its opponent have home-court advantage, it is also loaded with talent and outscores its opponents by an average of 27 points per game.
"We practice hard and have been getting ready for games like this all season," Central coach Lisa Blalock said in a previous interview.
