PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas – From his earliest days on the job as IU men’s basketball coach, Mike Woodson has promised an offense built around giving his players “the latitude to do things with the basketball until they prove me wrong.”
Friday night, that trust will get its first test, and a tough one too.
Woodson’s Indiana will play the first of two games against European pro outfit BC Mega here in The Bahamas at 7 p.m. Friday. The Serbian side boasts former Dayton guard Scoochie Smith and potential future NBA lottery pick Nikola Jovic, as well as the pedigree of having already sent talented players like Nikola Jokic and Goga Bitadze on to the league.
