MUNCIE, Ind. — Austin Nehls arrived at Ball State with a sizable list of individual accolades. The graduate transfer was sixth all-time in 3-pointers at Central Connecticut State and was one of 37 members of its 1,000-point club.
That’s why it’s a little surprising to hear Nehls describe one of the most enjoyable experiences of his college basketball career. Well, surprising until you get to know him a little more.
The date: Dec. 5, 2018. The score: Ball State 75, Loyola 69. Nehls’ final stat line: Zero points, zero assists, zero rebounds, zero shot attempts. Zero minutes.
