COVINGTON, Ind. — Trent McCormick heard the same pair of questions often in the past year.
“Trent, do you miss wrestling? Do you miss athletics?”
He understands why people were curious. McCormick spent 30 years as Yorktown’s wrestling coach after taking the job as a 19-year-old. He helped guide numerous high school athletes to successful careers as Tigers. And then, in 2018, he stepped away.
Thirty years of blowing that whistle, being in the trenches, traveling the state and country in buses: he was just ready for a break.
