MUNCIE, Ind. — A few months ago, Kati Weir (formerly Vasalakis) had a conversation with her husband about becoming a high school volleyball head coach.
The former Yorktown and Ball State player was already giving individual lessons and spent last season as an assistant at Western. But she wanted her own team. And the timing was perfect.
"It’s funny because about two months later, three jobs opened in Delaware County," Weir said of the openings at Wapahani, Delta and Cowan. "It lined up perfectly. If I was going to coach volleyball, I needed to get back to Delaware County because there’s so much talent.
