Former head football coach set to earn less in with new contract

In 2011, former Ball State head coach Pete Lembo signed with a base salary of $350,000, this is the same salary he will earn in his new position at Maryland University.

He was in the second season of his five-year contract extension at Ball State, signed in 2014, his new contract will continue through Dec. 31, 2017.

His early termination breached his contract, but the $200,000 buyout was covered by Maryland according to the details in Lembo’s new contract obtained from testudotimes.com.

Last season, Lembo’s head coach salary was $514,250 – good enough for the fourth highest in the Mid-American Conference.
