NEW CASTLE, Ind. — When Mark Detweiler looked around at his players Wednesday night at New Castle Fieldhouse, he saw some of the best talent Indiana high school boys basketball has to offer.
Mishawaka Marian’s Jaden Ivey, who’s committed to Purdue. Lawrence Central’s Dre Davis, who’s committed to Nebraska. Culver Academy’s Trey Galloway and Bloomington South’s Anthony Leal, both of whom appear destined for careers in the Big Ten if not another major conference. Not to mention Hamilton Southeastern’s Mabor Majak, listed at seven feet tall, among others.
Delta’s boys basketball coach had options leading the junior boys Indiana All-Stars, and in his time coaching the team he’s pleased with how they played.
