MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State football team announced today that former Cardinals Jeff Hammond (1986-89) and Mark Parris (1989-92) will serve as the honorary captains at Saturday’s Spring Football Game.
Hammond, a flanker originally from Bolingbrook, Illinois, helped the Cardinals win the 1989 MAC championship and earn a spot in the California Raisin Bowl. As a senior, Hammond finished with 11 catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns. He played in all but one game his final three years on the team.
Parris twice earned All-MAC accolades at linebacker (1991, ’92) and was a finalist for the MAC Vern Smith Award (MVP) as a junior.
