MUNCIE, Ind. - After playing back-to-back days you would have thought that the Cardinals would be tired from a long weekend road trip but that just wasn't the case on this Labor Day. The Ball State field hockey team came out ready to play on its home field at the Briner Sports Complex and earned itself a 1-0 victory against the Billikens.
It was a defensive battle today, there was no doubt about that, as the Cardinals (2-3) shoutout its first opponent of the season against Saint Louis (0-3).
Although, Ball State controlled the tempo of the ball game, neither team could get things going offensively in the first half despite the Cardinals drawing three penalty corners in the second frame of action.
