MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State field hockey team suffered a heart-breaking 3-2 defeat in a penalty shootout to Longwood University Saturday afternoon at the Briner Sports Complex.
"We definitely fought we left everything out there," Ball State head field hockey coach Stephanie Bernthal said. "Their are games that you are going to come up a little bit short and this was one of those games. Longwood is a really good opponent and they have had some great wins this year. Today was great preparation for what we could face in the tournament next week."
The Cardinals (2-15, 2-4 MAC) wrapped up its regular season today in Mid-American Conference action over the Lancers (9-6, 4-2 MAC).
