NEW CASTLE, Ind. — When New Castle football seniors William Grieser and Dylan Beck look back on their season last year, part of what they think about is the inexperience that held the team back.
Grieser points out New Castle’s season-opening loss last season against Franklin County, a 36-20 defeat, as an example of when the Trojans fell short. Beck does, too, saying the team entered that contest overconfident and that there were a few games when their inexperience showcased itself when they were losing.

The Trojans’ goals aren’t all that different now compared to 2019, which ended with a 4-7 record and sectional semifinal exit.
