GASTON, Ind. — With one swing of the bat, Callie Berry showed just how exciting of a program Wes-Del softball has become.
The Warriors put on a power display this season, coming into Tuesday’s regional championship game against Tri tied for 16th in the state in home runs. So it was fitting that the long ball produced one of the most exciting moments of the season.
Berry blasted a two-run home run – with two outs and two strikes –in the fifth inning to tie the game. Wes-Del eventually lost to Tri 4-3, but not before Berry hit the Warriors’ 33rd home run of the season.
