MUNCIE, Ind. — For three months a year, June through August, Ishmael El-Amin spends every day possible on the court with his dad. He's learned how valuable the time together is.
They work out and talk about how basketball here differs from Europe, where Khalid El-Amin has played the last 15 years. The former UConn hoops legend who left the program fifth in all-time assists and sixth in steals has a lot to teach his son.
"Our relationship is still growing," Ishmael said. "It's a lot different than most kids have with their fathers, but I say it's been great.
