MUNCIE, Ind. — Week 1 of the East Central Indiana high school football season started off on a sour note as Wes-Del discovered, just hours before kickoff, that its season-opener was canceled due to Clinton Prairie's football team being quarantined.
Earlier this week, Shenandoah announced that all of its athletic teams would be put on hold until Aug. 30. As a result, the Raiders' first two football games of the season against Scecina and Heritage Christian were canceled.
But enough of the bad news, as eight other area teams were in action to start the 2021 high school football season.
