Five East Central Indiana boys basketball teams remain alive in their respective state tournaments following Friday night's action, which saw New Castle upset two-time defending champion Delta along with Blackford, Blue River, Cowan and Wapahani all get one step closer to repeating as sectional champions.

New Castle (8-15) handed Delta (17-5) just its fifth loss of the season in a 51-43 upset victory.
The Trojans trailed early in the game but retook the advantage in the second quarter and went into halftime up 27-23 after Delta's Blake Jones hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
